Review PAWS Utilization Report
MBS frequently assist providers in investigating utilization problems, and in most cases, these problems arise from not adhering to the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
Providers should ensure that all services are delivered in accordance with the ISP to avoid potential revenue loss and compliance issues.
Delivering services outside the plan, or over-utilization, may result in unreimbursed costs, including staff time, or citations during a review. Under-utilization, on the other hand, represents missed revenue opportunities.
The PAWS Utilization Report is a tool available within DODD’s Datawarehouse, which provides projected trends for service usage – both over and under.
