Wonder why it’s so important to code case notes correctly to allowable, unallowable, and other/general administration? It’s because County Boards are required to prepare an annual Cost Report for Medicaid and DODD to provide a consistent method of capturing, analyzing, and publicizing the cost of services in each County Board in Ohio. The annual Cost Report allows DODD to determine Medicaid & non‐Medicaid reimbursable rates for TCM.
The Cost Report separates units of service into the following categories:
- Home Choice
Other/general administrative units are not reported on the Cost Report.
It is important that the SSA enter case notes under the correct category to ensure accuracy on the Cost Report.
