A CBDD has 330 days from the date of service to submit claims to DODD. If claims are not received within this timeframe the CBDD may not be reimbursed and cannot recover the costs of providing services.
Tips and Tricks
Document case notes immediately after the service delivery or no later than the next day. Your memory is fresh and you can write more accurate and compliant case notes to prevent having to make corrections.
Be consistent with checking for rejected case notes. Set aside time to review and make the appropriate corrections in a timely manner. When checking for rejected notes always filter back to the first day of the current year to ensure you have not missed notes in need of attention.
