According to OAC 5123-4-02, county boards must maintain an on-call, twenty-four-hour emergency response system in coordination with the provision of Service and Support Administration.
This system ensures an SSA is available to provide immediate response for unanticipated events that require an immediate change in an individual’s situation and/or individual service plan to ensure health and safety.
The SSA may not bill for hours in which they are on-call. However, if the SSA provides a service while on-call that involves assessment, care planning, referral, and linkage, monitoring and follow-up, or state hearings, the time spent providing that service is allowable under TCM.
