In May, we attended the Ohio Provider Resource Association’s (OPRA) Spring Conference, where we hosted a booth. It was a great opportunity to connect with providers and vendors (including some of our provider-clients and IT partners), as well as the outstanding OPRA team.
We were inspired by Keynote Speaker Ryan Shazier, a former OSU Buckeye, two-time Pro Bowl NFL Linebacker, Author and Speaker. He talked about the adversity he’s faced and his resilience:
- He has alopecia, an autoimmune condition which prevents growth of hair on the body, and was teased and called names growing up.
- In 2017, he suffered a spinal injury during an NFL game, which left him paralyzed.
- He had spinal surgery and had to learn to walk again.
We also enjoyed Laughing your Way to Better Employment Opportunities, presented by an organization that uses improvisation to build skills that improve social, workplace and lifetime opportunities for those with developmental disabilities.
A week later, team member Jenn Roberts represented MBS at OPRA’s PAC (Political Action Committee) Golf Outing. It was a fun way to meet new people!
Hope you are also getting out now and then! Maybe we’ll see you at the OPRA in the fall.
