
Effective May 14, 2026, the Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) implemented a 6-month moratorium on new enrollments for certain provider types, currently scheduled through November 14, 2026.
The moratorium impacts:
- Hospice Agencies
- Home Health Agencies
- Waiver Service Organizations and Individuals
- Private Duty Nurses
- Personal Care Aides
- Home Care Attendants
During this period:
- No new provider applications for impacted provider types will be accepted.
- Pending applications submitted before May 14, 2026, that were not yet processed will be denied and application fees refunded, if applicable.
- Existing enrolled providers may continue operating, submitting prior authorizations, completing revalidations, and updating demographics for current locations.
- No new service locations will be approved during the moratorium.
ODM states the purpose of the moratorium is to strengthen oversight, support program integrity, and evaluate provider capacity within the Medicaid program.
Current Medicaid recipients may continue receiving services from existing providers without interruption.
